Homeschool Kids Jiu Jitsu Class (ages 6-12)

At Pirate BJJ in Madison, Alabama, we're honored to extend our specialized Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes to home-schooled children ages 6 to 12. Our program provides a unique opportunity for young grapplers to immerse themselves in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, developing essential skills while forging bonds with like-minded peers in a nurturing environment. In our classes, young students embark on a journey of exploration and growth, diving into the intricacies of grappling and rolling. Led by our seasoned instructors, children learn a variety of techniques, including arm bars, side mounts, and our favorite turtle position. They also delve into spider guard and closed guard, mastering the art of controlling their opponents and setting up submissions. But Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is more than just a collection of techniques—it's a holistic approach to self-improvement and personal development. Through drills and exercises, children learn the importance of discipline, focus, and perseverance. They discover the power of hip escapes, also known as shrimping, as they learn to create space and escape unfavorable positions. They master the art of bridging, using their hips to generate power and create opportunities for offense or defense. As they progress through our program, children develop not only physical skills but also invaluable life skills. They learn to set goals and work tirelessly to achieve them. They develop resilience in the face of adversity, learning to overcome challenges with determination and grace. And perhaps most importantly, they cultivate a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship, forging lifelong friendships with their fellow grapplers.
