About
Time to take the leap off the plank and do your first Jiu Jitsu class and we can't wait to meet you. First things first, don't feel overwhelmed by the presence of other students in the class. Remember, everyone starts as a beginner at some point, and they're more than willing to offer assistance. The instructor will begin by providing a brief introduction to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and explaining fundamental concepts. Following that, we proceed with the warm-up session, which may seem challenging if you're not accustomed to physical activity, but it's crucial for preventing injuries. Subsequently, you'll be taught how to execute safe falls, a crucial aspect of injury prevention. Basic grappling techniques will also be introduced, along with instructions on their proper execution. Expect ample practice through drilling sessions, which allow you to refine the techniques you've learned. Finally, you'll engage in live sparring sessions, where you'll have the opportunity to apply your newfound skills in a dynamic setting. BJJ training typically consists of one or two classes per week due to its intensive nature. If you're unable to attend every session, don't fret—aim to join as frequently as possible, especially during the initial months. Your instructor is always available to address any queries or concerns you may have regarding the class content.
